Privacy Policy

Last updated 24 September 2026

Short version: Treefie collects no data. Everything happens on your iPhone. We have no servers that receive your photos, location or plants, and we don't use analytics, ads or trackers.

Photos and camera

When you scan or upload a photo, Treefie analyses it on your device with Apple's Vision framework and Visual Look Up. Photos are never uploaded by Treefie. If you add a plant to My Garden, a copy of the photo is stored on your iPhone only.

Care guides

Care guides are written on your device by Apple Intelligence (Apple's on-device Foundation Models). Treefie doesn't send the plant name or your photo anywhere to do this.

Location

Local tips are off by default. If you turn them on, Treefie reads your approximate location to judge how well a plant would grow where you live. The location stays on your device. To turn the location into a town name, Treefie uses Apple Maps, which Apple handles under its own privacy policy. Treefie doesn't store or share your location, and you can turn Local tips off at any time.

My Garden

Saved plants are stored in the app on your iPhone. Deleting a plant or the app removes them. Treefie has no accounts and no cloud copy.

Children

Treefie collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
